fostering a healing environment
Healthcare design is based on a fundamental core philosophy — deliver facilities and spaces that are innovative, functional, adaptable, efficient and that foster a healing environment for patients, their families and healthcare providers. Understanding this unique sector is essential when addressing the specialized needs that the healthcare industry faces. Successful healthcare design is responsive and thoughtful and our design team creates holistic environments for not only health and well-being, but that promote quality care and world class treatment.
S2’s broad healthcare experience consists of a number of projects including supportive living, long term care, dementia care, clinical and primary care, medical office space, acute care and simulation spaces.
We offer an experienced multi-disciplinary design team that understands the complexities of healthcare and participation of multiple stakeholders. We understand that the environment along with sound planning principles must be in harmony with the work flow and care delivery processes of the service provider. With sensitivity to way-finding, materiality, and functional spaces adapted to the human experience, we base decisions on the best available research with the goal of improving the quality of care. We respect that each project is unique and allow these unique circumstances to guide our decisions.
