Project Description

S2 took possession of their 15,000 sq.ft space on the ninth floor in Trans Alta in December 2005.  The subsequent renovation dealt with a number of planning and design challenges. The sense of arrival is framed by the gentle curved feature wall, complete with custom signage and paneling to conceal base building infrastructure. The entrance is further expressed with textural materials and play of colour and light, directing guests to the reception area. Integral to the business is the ability to collaborate and communicate amongst our teams and therefore the resulting planning solution was to ring the studio around the center core with open workstations filling the perimeter.  Minimal private offices and meeting spaces on the perimeter allow natural light to fuse the studio. To encourage interconnection and communication around the core, the concept of a promenade was established allowing the core walls to be utilized as a project gallery. Much thought and planning has been attributed to the growth of S2.  The past year has seen 3 renovations as we respond to our evolving profession and needs of our clients.
