The Windsor Park Emergency Fire Station is a new fire station replacing existing Fire Station #11 in the Calgary community of Windsor Park. Located as a gateway to the community along 4th Street SE, the new station also addresses Macleod Trail and bridges the commercial corridor to the residential area. The new 15,000 sq ft facility includes three fire apparatus bays, administrative areas and living quarters and will maintain full fire services this inner city area has come to expect. The new station will be a beacon for the area and function as a community crisis management center. The project is targeting LEED Gold certification and uses sustainable principles such as reduction of potable water, rain water collection, use of solar energy, regional materials and energy efficiency.
