This new 240-unit supportive living, long-term care and memory care community is located on a new seniors’ continuum of care campus.

This project features a research center dedicated to the study of aging. The community acts as a ‘living lab,’ and it seamlessly blends living, learning, and health services to enhance the quality of life for senior residents. In addition, the project offers home care services, programs, and amenities designed to cater to the needs of those residing in the adjacent 55+ independent living condominium building. This building was thoughtfully designed to include a convenient plus-30 pedway connection, making it easier for both structures’ residents to interact and share amenities.

In close collaboration with the research on aging centre, our team applied best-practice design principles to create an environment that maximizes flexibility and resident choice. The services and amenities are strategically aligned to support residents and foster integration with the broader community.

S2 initiated a thorough functional programming and site master planning process for this project. This involved an in-depth examination of spatial relationships, density, massing considerations, and a deep understanding of client and stakeholder requirements. The design team worked closely with the client and engaged with community stakeholders to develop a functional program that emphasizes critical adjacencies and effectively meets the project’s objectives.
