S2 was engaged to complete the master plan and schematic design for Wing Kei Village, a continuum of care campus that integrates a long-term care facility, seniors housing and mixed-use residential, aiming to provide a holistic approach to senior living while prioritizing community integration.
Phase 1 of the project focuses on designing a 6-storey, 207-unit long-term care seniors facility. Tailored to individuals with complex care needs, reduced physical function, impaired cognition/memory loss, and special rehabilitation requirements, the design prioritizes enhancing the quality of life, emphasizing accessibility and prioritizing community interaction by incorporating elements like community gardens and separate entrances. The inclusion of a dedicated daycare facility with a separate entrance not only serves the needs of the community but also fosters an environment of inclusivity and intergenerational connection, enriching the overall experience for residents and visitors alike.
Phase 2 will encompass the development of a Seniors Housing Facility equipped with supportive services. This facility will be linked to the Long-Term Care Facility through a future +15 bridge. Furthermore, the design incorporates two levels of underground parking with a total of 145 parking stalls, providing convenient access for residents and visitors.
Phase 3 marks the completion of the integrated campus with a Mixed-Use Commercial and Residential building. With the inclusion of comprehensive resident care and community integration, this phase solidifies the vision for a vibrant, multi-service community.
By incorporating a phased multi-service approach, the project adds layers of operational and design expertise, ensuring the sustainability and adaptability of the campus for future growth.
