The Sherwood Care expansion project has officially broken ground! This project, which we have been involved in since its inception, will see the construction of a new six-story building that will house 210 continuing care beds and 12 hospice/palliative beds.
This facility will be located just north of Festival Place on Festival Way, alongside Broadmoor Lake walking trails. It will be a community hub with amenities such as a bistro, a hair salon, a courtyard and rooftop terrace, a physiotherapy and rehabilitation area, and a large multipurpose auditorium.
Sherwood Care’s design is based on the concept of “small households.” Each household will have 14 private rooms and washrooms, as well as its own dining room, living room, kitchen, and outdoor space. This model promises more personalized care and improved infection control management.
The new facility will be a valuable asset to the community, providing high-quality care to seniors in a welcoming and supportive environment.
