Project Description

Originally opened in 1972, the Canyon Meadows Aquatic & Fitness Centre has been serving Calgary’s neighbouring southwast communities for more than 40 years. To meet current and future user requirements and expectations, the project was an expansion and renovation to update the facility amenities and to create new and improved user space, ensuring that the facility continues to provide value for Calgarians through a diversity of programming and fitness opportunities.

The scope of work for the project included an expanded lobby and entrance area to meet current barrier free standards, a new expanded fitness centre, group exercise room and new multi-purpose room, the addition of an elevator and a reconstructed hot tub and steam room. Updates were also made to the change rooms and washrooms to brighten up the space, new tile installed on the pool deck and dive tank and the existing building exterior was updated with new stucco. Construction on the facility was complete in the spring of 2017.
