The design concept for this multi-family development focuses on creating a pedestrian-friendly environment. The main floor features at-grade access, which activates both the courtyard and the street, while the courtyard next to the laneway encourages activity.
A contemporary palette of earth tones is incorporated into the design. The base is constructed with white masonry blocks, which elevate at the two grand entry lobbies. Red brick wraps around the center of the building, and recessed balconies create vertical segments that enhance the distinction between units. Fibre-reinforced cement panels are used throughout the structure, prominently featured on the top floor.
This development comprises 96 units, including 17 units funded by CMHC’s National Housing Strategy to meet accessible, universal, and adaptable living requirements.
