Role Summary:

The Intermediate Architect / Designer is responsible for a comprehensive understanding of the design and project delivery process. Responsibilities include working with clients and consultants with project lead support, leading multiple projects, and managing design and day-to-day progress and advancement of the project. This role also involves troubleshooting and problem-solving project-related issues, consulting the project lead and senior team members for complex issues.

What you will require:

Education, Licenses & Certifications:
  • Degree from a school of Architecture / Design, Undergraduate or Masters, or
  • Enrolment in the RAIC Syllabus Program
Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the design/architectural/engineering industry
  • Post-secondary training in architectural design

What You Will Work On:

  • Development of conceptual design options for discussion by the design team
  • Prepare drawings, models, visuals, graphics, and other documents relating to the project design as supported by the project lead
  • Assist in programming aspects of the project design as supported by the project lead
  • Coordinate and administer client and / or consultant meetings as supported by the project lead
  • Prepare project presentations including drawings and sketches
  • Prepare and assist in preparation of illustrations of the scale and character of a project
  • Ability to work on multiple projects as supported by the project lead.
  • Ability to lead other team members on various aspects of the project and delegate tasks.
  • Ability to work on smaller projects independently as supported by the project lead.
  • Assist in the development of project work plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Liaise with authorities having jurisdiction as required for approval processes as supported by the project lead
  • Prepare required documentation for clients and / or consultants as required as supported by the project lead
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of information from consultants
  • Assist in the development of construction documentation development with the technical team
  • Participate in business development initiatives such as Request for Proposals, Fee Proposals, etc.
  • Participate in the review of monthly client and consultant invoices
  • Mentor and facilitate development of Junior Design staff
  • May be required to provide support or assist with various tasks at various skills levels as may be required for project and / or firm success
