We are delighted to announce that our recent project, the BMO Centre at Stampede Park in Calgary, Alberta, has been showcased in Dezeen Magazine. This world-class project is making waves, and S2 is proud to be part of the talented architectural team alongside Populous and Stantec.

The BMO Centre expansion increases the convention center’s capacity and celebrates Calgary’s unique identity. Its sweeping copper-coloured canopy, inspired by the surrounding Rocky Mountains, Bow and Elbow rivers, and the prairies, beautifully captures the city’s spirit.

Connecting Community

Functioning as a hub for the community, the Centre features a public plaza, retail spaces, and a cafe that can be enjoyed year-round. The inclusion of public art, including the Spirit of Water sculpture by Gerry Judah, further enriches the visitor experience.

Innovation in Design

The interiors can be adapted to accommodate a variety of events, and details such as the leather-wrapped doors with the signature Calgary stitch add a touch of local flavour. The BMO Centre is a tribute to the city’s ability to honour its heritage while looking toward the future. We are proud to have contributed to creating a space that will inspire and connect the community for years to come.
