S2 Architecture has been involved in the development of a new 170-suite supportive living facility for St. Michael’s Health Group in the city of Spruce Grove, located in the community of Fenwyck.
The vision for the site is to create a campus environment where individuals can truly age in place. The facility will cater to seniors seeking supported independent living, offering a broad range of amenities including central dining, a bistro, salon spa, games rooms, and multi-purpose spaces for various engaging activities to enhance the lifestyle experience of the residents. The facility design will be fully accessible to meet the varying mobility needs of the residents. With a mix of studios, 1- and 2-bedroom units, there will be plenty of opportunities and choices to cater to different needs within the community. Exterior gardens, roof patios, and private balconies will be provided to enhance access to the outdoor environment. Additionally, meaningful connections to the surrounding community will be fostered with walking paths leading to and from the site.
Space has been allocated on-site for a future Phase 2, which will accommodate higher levels of care, as well as for commercial development offering complementary services for retail and medical professionals. This campus of care will address the rising demands and current waiting lists within Spruce Grove.”
