A Centre for Non-Profit Groups

The Orange Hub is a centre for non-profit groups focused on offering programs and services in the arts, recreation, wellness, and learning. In operation since 1979, The Orange Hub was originally designed and constructed as the Centre for the Arts and Communications for Grant MacEwan Community College.

Since the purchase of the building by The City of Edmonton in 2017 the building has been repurposed from a single-tenant post-secondary educational facility to a multi-tenant facility.

Due to this occupancy transition, and in conjunction with aging building systems, The Orange Hub has been identified as a high priority for a major rehabilitation project by The City of Edmonton’s Lifecycle Management Section. As such, the scope of Phase II of The Orange Hub Rehabilitation includes various upgrades to improve the building’s energy performance, life safety systems and functionality for the building’s diverse group of tenants. S2 worked in collaboration with gh3* on the project.
